AMPA Entrepreneurship Award

AMPA Entrepreneurship Award aims to foster the spirit of enterprise by offering help in coaching and networking to promising Moroccan start-ups. To apply download your application and submit it by June 8th 2013 to management@amp-usa.org.

Hicham Oudghiri

Hicham Oudghiri

Hicham is co-founder at Enigma.io, a search and discovery platform for big public data which has recently won Techcrunch's Disrupt Cup in 2013. Hicham is a technologist whose ambition and passion is to change the way we understand the world through data. Enigma is backed by some of the most prestigious venture firms in Silicon Valley and Hedge Funds in New York, as well as by the New York Times Company. Hicham is also the founder of Lixus Ventures, a partnership of angel investors dedicated to providing angel and seed stage investments in Morocco.

Kamal Reggad

Kamal Reggad

Kamal is a Moroccan entrepreneur currently focused on building the ecommerce industry in Morocco with a vision to change the way Moroccans shop. In January 2011, Kamal started Hmizate.ma the leading Daily-Deal site with a focus on travel. Voted#1 ecommerce site for two consecutive years and the best Moroccan innovating brand for the year of 2012. In June 2012, Kamal launched the first Online Marketplace in Morocco "Hmall.ma". He now focuses on building a great and enduring product that provides thousands of merchants the opportunity to connect with millions of consumers throughout the country.

Akram Benmbarek

Tech entrepreneur and former investment banker, Akram is the founder and C.E.O of Social IQ, a U.S based startup focused on innovative methods of Social Media influence marketing. Prior to Social IQ, Akram spent most of his career in Silicon Valley financial arena, where he started his career at Morgan Stanley, then spent 6 years at Merrill Lynch advising tech executives and venture capital investors, before joining UBS as a Vice President of investments. Later he gets hired to lead the technology investment banking arm of Advanced Equities as a Senior Vice President specializing in Pre-IPO financing of technology companies. Akram holds a Master in applied economics from California State University San Jose, and an MBA from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business.

Ali is CEO and co-founder at Ticketwood, Inc - the first event ticket search engine in the US market that provides a comprehensive, fast and easy-to-use resource to find tickets to sports, concerts, and theatre events. Searchub, Inc is a Comparison Search engine positioning itself to become the market leader in offering price comparison service. Searchub.com differentiate itself from competitors by bringing a search quality that is not available today in all vertical shopping engines. He is responsible for business strategy, operational execution and product development vision and execution. Ali is also a co-founder at Bnet Technologies, a service provider of quality eCommerce websites, custom web/software applications and e-Business consulting in Morocco. Prior to co-founding Ticketwood, He Held positions in Tenet Healthcare, MedTech and Barry’s Tickets Service. Mr. Benmoussa received a BS in Computer Engineering and an MS in Engineering Management from California State University – Northridge.

Submit a business plan according to this template. The Business Plan must be in English or French.

SELECTION PROCESS

The business plan will be reviewed by a group of industry experts from the fields of financing and entrepreneurship.
Five criteria will define the attractiveness of candidates' business plan:

Last day to submit your application is June 8th. The top three candidates will be contacted by June 13th 2013 and will make in person presentations during the Moroccan American Bridges Conference on June 21st 2013. One Winner will be selected by the judges panel and announced at the awards ceremony.
